Changing the Face of Ageing
Changing the Face of Ageing
‘The old face of ageing was the fear of getting old.
The new face is hope and promise.
The old face of ageing was loneliness and isolation.
The new face is companionship.
The old face of ageing was institutionalisation.
The new face is home.’
With age comes great wisdom and experience, yet still – no one seems to want to get older. Ageing has been out of fashion! Here at Home Instead, we’re changing that, by providing ageing New Zealanders with the very best in-home care and support possible.
Because when you receive the very best care and support in your own home, you’re happier. Life is better. You can enjoy it more.
We all age, and we may look different as the years pass, but we all still feel the same as we used to. Time doesn’t change who we are, so getting older doesn’t have to mean giving up the activities and hobbies you love. It doesn’t mean the fun is over!
We are changing the face of ageing – for thousands of clients across New Zealand, every day – by improving their quality of life through better care and support, at home.
In fact, Home Instead started the global ‘Changing the Face of Ageing’ movement to inspire the world to adopt a more optimistic perspective on ageing.
CAREGiver Leadership
Caring, compatible and dependable, our CAREGivers are dedicated to providing senior New Zealanders with the best in-home care and support possible. We start by thoroughly screening and training each and every CAREGiver, and we personally match CAREGivers based on your individual preferences and needs. We keep you in touch with your community through numerous community initiatives, like our ‘SANTAS’ letters (‘Send A Note To A Senior’) and our wonderful Pen Pals program, renowned for reducing isolation during the pandemic.
Operational Leadership
Our Auckland office has been operating since 2021, but globally Home Instead has been supporting clients to live happily and comfortably at home since 1994. It’s this global backing that helps give each local CAREGiver the training, support and quality control processes they need to deliver the highest standards of care – to you.
Thought Leadership
We don’t just carry out our work – we’re part of the big picture too. We want to inspire change and create a more positive care industry for all New Zealanders. We’re immersed in our local communities, and we drive positive change for individuals, families and communities. We’re setting the agenda for policy conversations about aged care across New Zealand, and internationally. Home Instead has worked to enhance the lives of seniors and their CAREGivers by participating in:
- World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Ageing
- Global Coalition on Ageing
- Global CEO Initiative on Alzheimer’s Disease
- Alzheimer’s Disease International Conference
- Milken Institute Global Conference
- G8 Dementia Summit.
